Teignmouth marksman James Bevis today (sat) won a bronze medal at the Paralympic Games, equalling the world record in his qualifying round.
And event the finals kept his fans biting their nails - he missed silver by a whisker in a shoot-out with France's Raphael Voltz.
Voltz carded a 10.5 in the shoot-out. Bevis 10.4 after both had shot a total 705.9 in the mixed R5 10m air rifle prone category.
In the qualifiers, ten competitors all carded a total of 600, equalling the current world record, and Bevis was among them.
The shooting competitions were at the Royal Artillery Barracks.
