A plea has gone out to Dawlish people to rally round to support its community disabled transport team.
Having had to cope with cramped conditions at The Manor for the past quarter of a century, a new headquarters is taking shape at Barton Hill.
So far fundraising and grants have brought in almost £83,000 but the total cost is expected to reach £125,000.
Jan Green, manager of the East Teignbridge Community Transport Association, which operates Dawlish Community Transport, said the search was now on for individuals to sponsor bricks at the new centre.
'The new building will give us everything we've always wanted including expansion for the much needed Shopmobility scheme which we are going to relaunch,' she said.
'It will also give us more space as we have seven vehicles and transport up to 4,000 people a year.
'I really hope people will sponsor a brick as we are due to finish building on July 3. We will keep a record of everyone who takes part and I will personally thank them for their support.
'I think people should support us as who knows when they or their family will need our services.'
A suggested donation of £5 per brick is invited but any amount will be gratefully received.
