The 1st Dawlish Scout Troop have been enjoying a few successful weeks.
Along with the generous donations, three of their Explorer Scouts completed the gruelling Ten Tors event.
The donations by the mystery charitable trust, which wants to remain nameless, and county councillor John Clatworthy, pictured with the Scouts above, have meant the troop has been able to buy a large mess tent, gas powered fridge and a water urn.
The new equipment will be put to good use at the Horseshow Camp, where the Scouts helps Dawlish Horse Show, the Hurdlestone Challenge and a summer camp in Cornwall.
In addition, the Scouts managed to raise a further £1,000 at their St George's Day event held at the Swan Inn, Dawlish.
Anje Kroening-Maynard, parent of one of the Scouts, said: 'We are very grateful for the support of the local community, the parents and of course the funders.
'Particularly, we are grateful to the Scout leaders, Carole Wainwright and Paddy O'Donnell who are brilliant with young people and put on a fantastic programme.
'Scouting really makes a different to the young people and enables them to develop skills, gain confidence and have a lot of fun.'
