Students at Teignmouth Community School have been celebrating their results in both GCSEs and BTECs.

Happy faces and tears of joy for many reflects the sense of pride that their hard work and resilience has paid off. High flyers Isobel, Nathalie, Sophie, Millie, Sadie and Bailey amassed an impressive thirty-four Grade 9s (or equivalent) between them.

Headteacher, Rachel Wickham, said: ‘I am immensely proud of all those students who have given the best version of themselves to these examinations.

‘Without wishing to detract from the highest achievers, it is true to say that I am particularly proud of the very many young people such as Theo, Dylan, Jack and Ethan who have achieved higher grades than the targets set for them based on their KS2 data.

‘They have worked hard, never given up and not allowed themselves to settle for anything other than their best.’

Samantha Atkinson, (deputy headteacher), said: ‘I am really pleased with the increase in grades 5 and above in English and maths (up 4% on last year) as this is such an important measure when it comes to young people getting onto their preferred courses at Post-16.

‘Our students are also walking away with over 450 of the top grades between them (grades 6-9) what an achievement!’
