A TEIGNBRIDGE fire station is on the lookout for people to join its crew.

Bovey Tracey Fire Station is seeking someone who is able to provide day cover during weekdays and over the weekend.

A spokesperson for the station said: ‘If you would like any more information on what to expect joining our on call station, please visit our website, or drop by on a Tuesday evening between 7pm and 9pm to speak to a member of our team who will be able to give you more details’.

Most of Devon’s fire stations are crewed by on-call firefighters.

On-call firefighters do the same emergency work as wholetime firefighters, but they can also have other jobs too.

While on duty, they carry a pager, which activates when they need to attend an incident.
