THE driver of a school minibus faced the hardest decision of his life when he passed a burning vehicle with a man inside, while driving a bus full of children to Widecombe primary school on Monday morning. The man in the car, who died at the scene, has since been named as David Brokenshire. The 43-year old accountant was single and lived in Babbacombe Road, Torquay. His burning vehicle was spotted by the driver of a Harvey's Bus Ltd minibus at Two Crosses car park, Southcombe Hill shortly before 9am. 'They did not stop. The car was parked off the road, he could see there was someone inside it. 'The dilemma for him at that instant was whether he could do anything to help or whether to get the children out of the way as quickly as possible. He dropped the children off at school and called the police, then went up there to see if he could help but by then it was far too late.' Read the full story in our online edition...
