A MAN was found dead in Dawlish town centre yesterday evening (July 19), police have confirmed.

Officers rushed to Piermont Place, near The Lawn, just before 5.40pm because they had concerns for a man’s welfare.

A police spokesman said: ‘Emergency services attended the scene and a man, in his 30s and local, was confirmed deceased.

‘Police are not currently treating the incident as suspicious and enquiries are ongoing to locate his next of kin.’
