A DISABLED Teignmouth pensioner died while on holiday in Spain.
Ronald Cushion had rented a motorised wheelchair but while steering it he plunged down four stone steps hitting his head.
The accident happened on December 20 2023 in Malaga and he died in hospital four days later.
An inquest at Devon Coroner's Court heard the retired family therapist was on holiday with his wife.
Ronald, of Higher Holcombe Drive, had been registered disabled following a stroke and needed a wheelchair to get around.
Father of three Ronald had gone to the front of the hotel for a smoke but missed the ramp and fell down the stone stairs.
The wheelchair overturned and Ronald suffered a serious head injury and was rendered unconscious.
There were no suspicious circumstances and he died from a cerebral haemorrhage due to the fall.
Assistant coroner Stephen Covell recorded an accidental death conclusion.
