A TWO vehicle crash left Luscombe Hill, Dawlish, blocked this afternoon (Sunday) as firefighters cut a person free from one of the overturned cars.

Fire Control received a call from police shortly before Noon and a spokesperson said: ‘Control immediately mobilised two fire appliances from Torquay and Teignmouth and, due to information that one of the vehicles had rolled over, control also mobilised the heavy rescue unit from Middlemoor along with a support pump from Middlemoor.

‘Once on scene crews confirmed a two vehicle RTC with one person still within one of the vehicles and got to work stabilising the vehicle and making it safe.

‘Crews then got to work using two sets of hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the roof to one vehicle to allow better access to the vehicle.

‘One casualty was removed from the vehicle and left in the hands of Ambulance personnel.

‘These are the full details.’

By shortly after 4pm it was reported that the road was open again.
