VOLUNTEERS from Teignmouth Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) were called to assist a group of walkers in difficulty between Maidencombe Beach and Bell Rock on Good Friday (April 3).

The Teignmouth Lifeboat crew were paged at 2.47pm, following a request from Solent Coastguard.

They swiftly launched the Teignmouth RNLI Claude and Kath Atlantic 85 lifeboat and were soon on the scene.

On arrival, they discovered a group of six people who had been walking along the rocks, one of whom had suffered an injury from a fall.

The volunteer lifeboat crew brought the group ashore, safely landing at Maidencombe Beach.

After handing the casualty safely into the care of Coastguard crews, Teignmouth lifeboat was stood down and returned to station, where it was recovered and made ready for service again at 4pm.
