Drivers in and around Teignbridge will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
And one of them is expected to cause major delays – with motorists facing a holdup of at least half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:
• A38, from 9pm July 21 to 2am September 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Peartree to Ashburton - lane closure by Wales and West Utilities for installation/removal of closure on Whistley Hill for gas mains replacement works.

And a further nine closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• A30, from 8pm August 11 to 6am August 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Whiddon Down, lane closure for boundary fence repairs.
• A30, from 7pm August 12 to 6am August 13, severe delays (more than 30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 31 to A38 Belvedere Cross carriageway closed for overhead gantry works. Diversion for A38 traffic via A30 westbound to Sourton Cross, A386 to A38 Manadon. Diversion for A380 traffic via A30 westbound to Alphington, Marsh Barton, A379 and A381. Local traffic for Kennford to split at the Devon Hotel for A379 westbound.
• A38, from 7pm August 12 to 6am August 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 northbound, Belvedere Cross to Kennford carriageway closed for overhead gantry works. Diversion via minor road past Haldon Racecourse and A380 northbound.
• A30, from 8pm August 15 to 4am August 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 westbound, Fingle Glen - lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.
• A38, from 9pm August 18 to 6am August 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Holdon, lane closure for installation of new average speed cameras.
• A38, from 7pm August 19 to 6am August 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Harcombe Cross to Splatford Split lane closure for carriageway reconstruction/renewal.
• A38, from 9pm August 19 to 6am August 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Splatford entry slip carriageway closure for installation of new average speed cameras, diversion via Kennford entry slip.
• A38, from 7pm August 20 to 6am August 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 westbound, Dartbridge to Lower Dean lane closure and convoy for carriageway reconstruction/renewal works.
• A38, from 7pm August 21 to 6am August 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 westbound, Chudleigh to Chudleigh Knighton lane closure and convoy for carriageway reconstruction/renewal works.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
