Teignbridge's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A38, from 7pm September 18 to 6am November 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Linhay to Goodstone 24hr lane closure for S278, junction improvement works. Minor local authority, junction closed, eastbound, traffic diverted via Goodstone junction. Westbound, traffic diverted via A38 westbound to Linhay and return to Goodstone to exit.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A30, from 10pm October 2 to 4am October 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 both directions Alphington to M5, junction 31 carriageway closures for National Grid works, eastbound, diversion via A377, Cowick Lane, Marsh Green Road West, Trusham Road, B3213 and A379, north for M5 to junction 30 and south for A38 to Kennford. Reverse for westbound.

A30, from 8pm October 12 to 6am October 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Woodleigh to Fingle Glen carriageway closure for resurfacing, diversion via Tedburn St Mary.

A30, from 8pm October 13 to 6am October 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Woodleigh to Alphington carriageway closure for resurfacing, diversion via Tedburn St Mary, Tedburn Road and Ide Lane, No access to/from A30 westbound, at Fingle Glen.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
