After a fallow year, Teignmouth is ready to dazzle again with an eight-day carnival extravaganza. And the fun kicks off on Saturday (July 26).
Community remains at the heart of the celebrations and, after the official opening of the 2025 Teignmouth Carnival, the first day will see local charities and organisations on the Den with tabletop sales and information.
The Den remains at the heart of the carnival celebrations. Throughout the week, residents and visitors will be treated to a host of entertainment with all the fun of the Rowlands Brothers fun fair along with animal encounters, a drumming session, drag night, community choirs, a church service, arts and crafts, emergency services demonstrations, a quiz, baby show and kids’ event, mis-placed item competition, dog show, cheerleaders, dance school display and mini Olympics.
Music, as always, will play a key role in the carnival celebrations and the Den stage will welcome soloists, duos, small bands and tribute acts playing an eclectic mix to suit all tastes.
The streets will be lined on Thursday (July 31) for the carnival processions featuring colourful floats, walkers, dancers and bands. The fun will continue with a fireworks display at 10pm.
Teignmouth’s carnival favourite – Teignmouth’s Got Talent (TGT) is also making a return. Perhaps our next Muse or Luke Friend will grace the stage.
The carnival committee has been hard at work for over a year to bring all the week’s activities together and they say they are looking forward to witnessing, first-hand, the fruit of their labours.
Teignmouth Carnival is a free event thanks to the support of local businesses.
For detailed information about carnival events and timings, programmes are available from local shops for £2.
