DAWLISH Town Football Club has revealed it is aiming to secure Conference South football in five years after signing a lucrative three-year deal worth up to £45,000 with sports manufacturer Hummel. The club has gained promotion from the Western League First Division last season and is 14th in the Premier Division. And Dawlish chairman Dave Fenner is confident he can now take the three steps up the football pyramid necessary to secure Conference South football. 'We just want to try to bring a bit more back to Dawlish,' he said. 'I think Dawlish is a sleeping giant and with the people we have at the club we can really go places.' 'We want to be in a position to go up next season and eventually reach the Conference South – I'd like to think it could be done in five years. 'The foundations for this are being put in place. We've sought FA advice as to what we need to do to get our ground ready for that level of football. 'The FA inspected our ground a couple of weeks ago and will give us the feedback soon.' Mr Fenner admitted the club's deal with Hummel was a significant step in the right direction. 'We'e signed a three-year contract with them and we're looking at somewhere between £40,000 to £45,000. It's a massive deal for us. They sponsor teams like Aston Villa and it's great to be associated with them. We'll be wearing all their kit gear next season. This far exceeds any other sponsorship deals we've had before.' He praised the club's commercial manager John Linton for his ongoing efforts to help Dawlish progress financially and Dawlish manager Chris Myers describing him as an inspiration since he took full charge of the club's first team affairs more than three and a half years ago If Conference South football is achievable, Mr Fenner knows Dawlish must expand and improve the facilities at Sandy Lane, or move to another ground. Meanwhile, the club has football training sessions for youngsters on May 29 and 30 at Dawlish Leisure Centre and is also looking to decorate its clubhouse with old team photos and memorabilia.
