BOVEY Tracey Town Council says it has been made aware of the unauthorised encampment of travellers at Mill Marsh Park.

The council is actively working with Devon & Cornwall Police, as well as other relevant agencies, to ensure ‘a swift and peaceful resolution’.

And while the park remain open to the public, the council is warning persons not to attempt to effect the removal of the travellers or interfere with any property that has been brought onto the site.

‘This disappointing event will soon be over, and the town council will consider a review of security measures and procedures with the aim of reducing the chance of anything similar happening again’ the council said.

The latest encampment comes just a few days after a group, possibly the same, though this is just speculation, encamped in a field adjacent to the A382, near Plants Galore.

And before that an encampment had sprung up at Newton Abbot’s Osbourne Park.
