GREEN-FINGERED volunteers are needed to help work on a sensory garden at an Exminster charity.

Westbank is appealing for help to maintain the garden areas at the charity’s base at Farm House Rise.

The opportunity is open to all would-be volunteers who can help out and is a chance to learn more about planting, pruning and development of outside spaces.

A spokesman said: ‘In addition there are many health and well-being benefits to gardening including getting physical exercise, being in fresh air, sunlight and Vitamin D and improving dexterity in the hands from picking weeds and sowing seeds.’

Initially, volunteers are needed for a few hours on Tuesday daytimes to shadow the project leader.

Afterwards, hours would be to suit volunteers.
