Sunday saw the 37th annual London Marathon and Fit2Run had five ladies taking part – Chris Rive, Clare Turner, Emma Finch, Sharon Ellis and new member Ruth Gordon.

They had secured their places through a variety of ways: Rive – Good For Age place; Turner – Gold Bond Charity place for the club’s nominated charity (RNLI); Finch – club place (fundraising for RNLI); Ellis – Charity place; Gordon – ballot.

A total of 17 members were in the capital to cheer on their club-mates.

First to finish for the running group was Ellis in 5.23.00, followed by Rive in 5.26.00, Turner in 5.58.00, Gordon in 6.15.00 and Finch in 6.30.00.

As always, Fit2Run rose to the occasion, raising a substantial amount for the RNLI, with Rive fundraising for Alzheimer’s Society and Ellis running for Action for Children.
