THE season is well underway at Chudleigh Bowling Club and with the so far glorious weather, all but one of the summer friendlies have gone ahead as planned.

Of the six matches that have been played to date, losses have been sustained in close matches against Starcross, Chagford, Bovey Tracey and Ottery St Mary while victories have been had at Heavitree and Phear Park in Exmouth.

With many new or inexperienced bowlers taking part, club captain Ian Ramsay is very pleased and encouraged with the start of the season.

There will be an open day for potential new club bowlers on Saturday, May 17 from 10.30. If you are new to the Chudleigh area or are looking to try something new, whether you have played bowls before or not, come down and give it a go. Please wear flat shoes.

If you are unable to attend this open day, you are also welcome at club nights- Wednesday evenings at 6pm.
