EXETER 2nd XI had a winning position snatched from their grasp when they ran into Teignmouth & Shaldon.

The city side were 135 for three chasing 224 to win with Aashay Dube (51) and Elliot Barnes (41) having just reached a century stand.

Josh Couch removed Dube to break the stand, prefacing a collapse to 169 all out. Ross Jameson was the man of the moment for Teignmouth & Shaldon with a four-for-20 return. Oscar McCallum picked off three for 34.

Alastair Cliffe (60) top scored for Teignmouth & Shaldon, who needed rescuing from 55 for four after running into difficulties against Muhammad Mashal (4-34) and some sticky-fingered catching.

Cliffe and McCallum (43) pulled things round with a stand of 95.

Also in C Division East, there were victories for Upottery 1st XI, Sidmouth 2nd XI and Ottery St. Mary 1st XI.
