JAMES Allen is the latest rider to embark on an epic journey to Glentress Forest, Scotland, for the third round of the Lloyds 2025 National MTB Cross Country Series.

A promising young talent from Mid Devon Cycling Club, James has made impressive strides at the national level over the past year in both cyclocross and mountain biking. Facing a challenging course that pushed his skills and abilities to the limit, he secured 13th place, showcasing his continued growth and determination on the national stage.

Meanwhile, Mid Devon Cycling Club is gearing up to welcome riders to the 2025 Dartmoor Classic with an exciting new inter-club challenge.

A staple of the UK sportive calendar, the Dartmoor Classic is a spectacular event for MDCC. This year, the event introduces an exciting new competition—the British Cycling Inter-Club Challenge, bringing together 47 British Cycling-affiliated clubs in a battle for points and prizes.

Participants will earn points based on several challenges, including:

  • Team Entries: The more riders from a club, the better their chances.
  • Completion Rates: Points awarded for team members who finish their chosen route.
  • Saturday Registration Static Bike Challenges: Riders can test their speed and endurance for prizes.
  • Sportive Ride Quiz: Answering clues scattered across the routes adds an element of strategy.
  • Closed Road Hill Climb: A thrilling battle against gravity, with prizes up for grabs.

A £10 discount is available for all team members who register before May 31. The winning team will take home a trophy, proudly sponsored by Bay Cycles Torquay. Additional prizes include hill climb awards, sponsored by EKOI UK, and static bike challenge prizes, sponsored by Certini Bicycle Co.

With top riders, scenic routes, and fierce club competition, this year’s Dartmoor Classic promises to be one for the books!
