BUCKLAND Athletic published their confirmed fixtures for the 2026/27 Western League campaign on Tuesday, June 23.

The Yellows get underway in about a month’s time and will go on the road for a pair of Devon derbies at the end of July.

Saturday 25th sees them visit Tavistock AFC at Langsford Park and they then don’t have long to wait for a first midweek fixture, making the short trip to face Bovey Tracey AFC at the Western Counties Roofing Ground on Tuesday, 28.

Neither side was playing step five football last year, Tavistock dropping back down after a rock-bottom finish in the Southern League and Bovey of course jumping up after a terrific title-winning season in the SW Peninsula League.

Bovey and Buckland did cross paths in the St Luke’s Challenge Cup though, the Moorlanders prevailing via a penalty shootout after a fascinating 3-3 draw.

Fellow promotion hopefuls Torpoint Athletic will then be the first opponents for Matt Cusack’s side at The VX3 Stadium, coming to Newton Abbot on Saturday, August 1.

August is set to be a busy month in the cup competitions with the potential of two FA Cup ties and an FA Vase outing in the calendar.

September sees the reverse fixture against Tavistock (Weds 16) as well as games away at Portishead Town (Sat 5) and Clevedon Town (Sat 19), both of whom will be competing with the Bucks at the top of the table.

Days after the Clevedon clash, former Buckland manager Dan Hart will be taking his new-look St Blazey side back to a place he knows well (Weds 23), off the back of a punchy summer for the Cornish club.

Home and away clashes with Liskeard Athletic, another newly-promoted team, follow in October as well a midweek derby matchup against Ivybridge Town (Weds 14).

Buckland are blessed with very little travelling over the Christmas period. First Bovey come to town on Saturday 19, then Brixham AFC are their guests on Boxing Day before the New Year kicks off against St Blazey (Saturday 2).

They visit Ivybridge at Erme Valley the following weekend (January 9) and their reverse fixture against Brixham at Wall Park comes on Saturday, March 26.

The season spills into April and Buckland will play their final regular season game away at Bridgwater United on Saturday 3.

Buckland’s pre-season slate begins with a game away at Teignmouth AFC on Wednesday, July 1. Click here to read more about their pre-season fixtures.
