BUCKLAND Athletic will go on their travels in early July for their first two 2025/26 pre-season games before returning to Homers Heath for three more outings.

It all begins on Friday 4 at South Devon College with Teignmouth AFC as the opponents and then Matt Cusack’s side visit Wadebridge Town at Bodieve Park (Wednesday 9).

The trio of home games at the VX3 Stadium see Buckland cross paths with Torquay United (Saturday 12), Mousehole AFC (Saturday 19) and Plymouth Parkway (Tuesday 22).

As well as the pre-season slate, the Yellows have learned their Western League fate with the provisional games for the whole season ahead being released.

Newly-promoted Newquay AFC are the first visitors to Newton Abbot, coming to town on Saturday, July 26. The Cornish side finished at the South West Peninsula League Premier West summit last year to secure the sole promotion spot and Western League football is their reward.

Buckland then make the short trip to Barnstaple Town on Tuesday 29 with midweek games coming into play from the off.

After an FA Cup game (TBC) on the opening weekend of August, the first full month of action sees the Bucks take on Wellington AFC (h), Street FC (a), Nailsea & Tickenham (h), Sidmouth Town (a) and Bradford Town (h).

Devon derbies are the most eye-catching fixtures out there but of course there won’t be any league meetings with Brixham AFC following their impressive playoff success, former Buckland man James Moxon scoring both games for the Fishermen away at Clevedon Town.

Ivybridge Town are still at the same level as Buckland though and the pair will go toe-to-toe on Boxing Day at Homers Heath before the latter head to Erme Valley on April 3. The Greens will also be under new management this season so both clubs have plenty of intrigue surrounding them.
