BUCKLAND Athletic U16 girls travelled to Exmouth to compete in the Devon League Cup final on Sunday, May 11.

They went toe-to-toe at Southern Road with Marine Academy Plymouth and “showed high levels of commitment and sportsmanship throughout” in the words of their Facebook page.

The pair were locked together at 1-1 at half-time before MAP went on to win 4-2 and get their hands on the silverware.

Bucks captain Ella spoke of being “Really proud of the girls to have got to the final. Unfortunate result for the club but a great experience for the team. Onwards and upwards for next season.”

MAP are unbeaten this season and so it was no surprise that they proved to be a formidable opponent, but Ella and co gave it their best efforts either way.
