NEWTON Abbot Spurs returned home empty-handed from a trip to Honiton Town on Saturday, October 3.

They crossed paths with the Hippos at Mountbatten Park and found themselves 3-0 down at the break.

Skipper Will Hancox hit back to give Spurs a glimmer of hope but they would go on to lose 4-1.

Besides their FA Vase success, it is yet to really click for Spurs under Matt Hayden and the games are coming thick and fast.

Perhaps a change of personnel could light the fuse and there has been one winger in and one winger out at The Rec.

Saul Vanes, who was one of several players to follow Hayden and Sam Biscoe over from Stoke Gabriel & Torbay Police has returned to the Bees whilst Bovey Tracey AFC livewire Jadore Lawson made his debut in a Spurs shirt at Honiton.

Talking of the Vase and Spurs visit Wantage Town in the first round proper on Saturday, October 10, but first, they host high-flyers Elburton Villa tonight.
