TEIGNMOUTH Golf Club recently prevailed in the opening round of the Emerton Court Trophy against Sidmouth.
After losing the away leg 4-1, they enjoyed a 5-0 clean sweep on home soil to book their spot in the next round.
This is the Centenary year for Teignmouth GC and so this wasn’t a bad way to kickstart this important competition whatsoever.
Steve Papworth and John Dabin were the most prolific pairing, easing their way to an 8&6 victory. Andrew Hurley and captain Dave Anderson, and Simon Pattinson and David J Hughes were also on top form, winning 6&5 and 5&4 respectively.
The dominance on home soil didn’t end there either with Bob Radley and John Richardson winning 4&2, plus the two Richards, Wilson and Dunn, came out on top at 3&2.
The reserve match was won by Tony McHale and Trevor Tead to really put the icing on Teignmouth’s cake.
Exeter’s Seniors are next up as the second stage rolls around!
