MEMBERS at Dainton Park Golf Club concluded with 2025 on an almighty high, the highest that the sport has to offer.
The final week of the year was a busy one for Dainton Park with all of the members enjoying the dry weather while on their festive breaks from work.
The club organised four different competitions for the week and amazingly, there were two festive hole-in-ones.
Congratulations go to Scott Jones and Ian Osborne. Both longstanding members of Dainton enjoyed their aces in the weekend competitions bagging themselves some extra prize money and all golfers dream Christmas present.
In a Saturday Stableford, Scott hit a soft 8-iron on the 15th hole. It was playing 135 yards and he slam dunked it for a hole in one!
Then, in the Sunday Stableford, Ian hit the perfect strike on the fourth hole which landed 18 inches away and spun into the hole.
This takes the Dainton Park 2025 hole-in-one tally to ten.
Paul R Harris got the ball rolling on March 4 with an ace on the fourth hole and later that month, Barry Myers matched this feat on the same hole.
Philip Seeberg was one of two to score his on hole 15, doing so on April 22. Jason Bevan and Allan Ramsay conquered the fourth in early May and late July respectively.
From July, it would then be managed fairly regularly, Michael Tufrey for August (hole 17), Joshua Norris in September (four) and Stephen Spicer in mid-October (17) before the aforementioned Scott and Ian got in on the act to round out a great year for the club.
Will the Dainton members be able to surpass this tally now that 2026 is upon us?
