THE second running of the Storm the Fort 10K took place on Sunday, September 13, welcoming runners to a challenging and enjoyable multi-terrain event in Plymouth.
Starting from the picturesque Woodland Park, participants tackled a demanding two-lap course through Woodland Woods and the surrounding area. The route offered a varied running experience, combining woodland trails, grass sections and quiet roads, testing runners' endurance and adaptability across different terrain types.
Despite the challenging nature of the course, competitors embraced the event's unique character, enjoying the scenic surroundings and supportive atmosphere throughout the race. The combination of natural woodland paths and road sections provided an engaging course that kept runners focused from start to finish.
The race concluded with a memorable finish at the historic Woodland Fort, Crownhill, where participants were rewarded with well-earned commemorative medals in recognition of their achievement.
A special feature of the event's medal was revealed after the race. The medal awarded this year forms part of a unique five-year collectable series, with each annual medal making up one section of a larger design.
Runners who collect all five medals over the coming years will eventually reveal a complete image of Woodland Fort, creating a lasting keepsake and an extra incentive to return year after year.
