A BICKINGTON teenager is looking forward to the sporting opportunity of a lifetime in South Africa next month, writes Nigel Canham.

Will Christophers, 14, is to be the only Teignbridge youngster in the 14-strong squad taking part in the annual Devon Youth Cricket Development Tour.

The South Dartmoor Community College, Ashburton, student will play six matches in the Western Cape, quite a comeback for the lad who was named Devon Bowler of the Year 2012, but then dropped from the squad the following year.

'That gave me the determination to improve,' he said.

'There were two bowlers who were quite pacey, but it turned out they weren't that consistent and giving away too many extras.
