NEWTON Abbot Young Farmers Club FC have recently celebrated new incoming officers onto the committee as the 2022-23 YFC year comes to an end, writes Anneliese Retallick.

The club have had a hugely successful year ending on a high and now they commence what is hoped to be another fun filled and productive year!

On Tuesday, September 12, members attended their final event which was Widecombe Fair. A stall for the club was set up to show potential new members what the YFC is really about and a bottle tombola competition was also held.

On Tuesday, September 19 the annual general meeting was held at the Liverton village hall.

Members attended to say goodbye to last years officers and vote in this years. Members voted in Olivia Retallick as chairman and Charlotte Gale as secretary. We also invited our elected charity to our meeting to present the cheque from our fundraising over the years.

Dartmoor Search and Rescue Ashburton received £2000 raised from big breakfasts, tractor runs and pig racing to mention a few.

Alongside this the club also held their 90th year anniversary ball this year so lots of profits supported members to celebrate 90 years with previous members this year however still a worthy donation made to charity.

Newton Abbot YFC will be celebrating their final dinner and dance on October 14 at Newton Abbot Rugby Club and tickets are now up for sale on socials.
