KINGSTEIGNTON boxer Jed Baker continues to go from strength to strength in 2026 as he now sets his sights on the USA.
The 19-year-old will be going stateside at the end of August to take the next step in his burgeoning career.
California is his specific destination with the International PAL Boxing Championships starting on Monday 24 and ending on Saturday 29, at the Oxnard PAL Mid-City Boxing Gym.
Fighters of all ages and from all over the world will be taking part, Jed competing in the under-54.8kg weight category.
He already has an impressive resume to his name, the latest triumph seeing him claim the Riviera Cup crown for a fifth time.
Zain Khan will be sick of the sight of Jed as the latter tends to win when the pair cross paths; he completed the trilogy via a unanimous decision after dropping Khan in the third round.
Jed has been representing Devon for nearly a decade now and has also won tournaments on a county and national level, not to mention that he is an International King of the Ring champion.
Building up a rock-solid reputation in this country now, the next step for Jed is to go worldwide.
He labelled this as “a massive opportunity,” adding: “I’m really excited to be going over to California as a UK Select. I’ve worked hard to get to this point and I want to make the most of the opportunity.
Jed continued, “My goal isn’t just to go over there and take part. I want to put my name on the global stage and ultimately come home as the tournament champion.
“To be able to represent the UK and Devon on an international stage is something I’m incredibly proud of, and hopefully I can come back with something for everyone back home to be proud of as well.”
Everyone will be supporting Jed from far and wide. Follow Jed Baker Boxing on Facebook to keep up to date.
