BOVEY Tracey AFC dispatched another higher-ranked opponent, booking their place in the third round of this year’s FA Vase as a result.
The Moorlanders welcomed Corsham Town to the Western Counties Roofing Ground on Saturday, November 8.
Corsham have enjoyed a strong season to date, sitting fourth in the Hellenic Premier League when the pair went toe-to-toe.
Once again though, Bovey were punching above their weight, prevailing 4-1 in front of their own fans.
There may not have been any goals in the first half but the visitors were reduced to 10 men, their fullback receiving two yellow cards. Highly-rated young talent Jack Brimming quickly scored twice after the break to then give Bovey a commanding lead.
Goals from club stalwart Neil Last and Louie Roberts took the game beyond Corsham and although they did strike late on, it was nothing more than a consolation.

Bovey’s reward for this win is another home tie, with Downton FC set to come to town on Saturday, December 6, in round three.
Downton play their football in the Wessex Football League and currently sit 14th with a record of 4-2-7. They also won 4-1 at home in round two, beating Shortwood United to progress.
The Wessex Football League is the same one in which Millbrook FC, who exited at the hands of Bovey’s rivals Buckland Athletic in the most dramatic of penalty shootouts, play in.
With Ilminster Town losing by a goal to nil away at Amesbury Town, Bovey are now the only side flying the South West Peninsula League flag in the Vase. Buckland are one of two teams still representing the Western League but that won’t be the case for much longer as the other club, Bridgwater United, will visit Homers Heath in round three.
Talking of the Peninsula League and whilst Ben Gerring’s men obviously weren’t in league action this weekend, they remain out in front with Bridport FC also not playing.
Before they face eighth-placed Crediton United on Saturday at the WCR Ground, Bovey have a St Luke’s Challenge Cup clash away at Okehampton Argyle tonight.
