Teignbridge's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A38, from 8pm July 27 to 6am July 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 westbound, Dart Bridge exit slip carriageway closure for barrier works, diversion via Drybridge and return.

• A38, from 9pm July 21 to 2am September 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Peartree to Ashburton - lane closure by Wales and West Utilities for installation/removal of closure on Whistley Hill for gas mains replacement works.

And a further six closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A38, from 8pm July 30 to 6am July 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 westbound, Kennford to Haldon Hill - lane closure for gantry works.

• A38, from 7pm August 4 to 6am August 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Harcombe Cross to Splatford Split lane closure for carriageway reconstruction/renewal.

• A38, from 7pm August 5 to 6am August 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 westbound, Dartbridge to Lower Dean lane closure and convoy for carriageway reconstruction/renewal works.

• A38, from 7pm August 6 to 6am August 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Old Haldon Hill exit slip closure for carriageway reconstruction/renewal works, diversion via - A38 to M5, junction 30, M5 and A38 south, A380 and local roads to rejoin Old Haldon Hill.

• A38, from 7pm August 6 to 6am August 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Kennford to M5, junction 31 lane closures for carriageway reconstruction/renewal works.

• A30, from 8pm August 11 to 6am August 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Whiddon Down, lane closure for boundary fence repairs.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
